Activities of Slovenia during its Presidency of CEFTA in 2003

On January 1, 2003, the Republic of Slovenia took over the Chairmanship from the Slovak Republic. On January 24, 2003, Mr. Roman Paldan, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, handed over the chairmanship to Mrs. Tea Petrin, Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia. Republic of Slovenia has taken over the role of the Chairman for the second time in the history of CEFTA. In 1997, Slovenia held the position of Chairman for the first time. Next year, the chairing country will be the Republic of Bulgaria.

During its chairmanship, the Republic of Slovenia organized the following events:

• Meeting of the State Secretaries of the CEFTA countries responsible for foreign trade
• Session of the Subcommittee on Agricultural Trade
• Session of the Joint Committee
• Meeting of the Agricultural Ministers of the CEFTA countries
• Summit of the Prime Ministers of the CEFTA countries
